Methods to Spoof MAC Address

How to Block any Website on your Computer or Phone

Nowadays phones are common thing and in this digital world everyone attached to Internet or use it most. Now the Internet, become the part of our life. So children’s are also using internet and sometimes they get attached to some irrelevant websites or adult content. To restrict them to see those content you can block those websites.  Also there are several reasons why you might want to block certain websites on your computer. Some websites could be spreading viruses, contain explicit content or even be trying to steal your personal data. While you may well be more than capable of avoiding these websites, but that doesn't stand true for everyone who uses your device. In such cases, it might be best to block certain websites.

There are different ways to go about blocking websites. You can choose to block websites only on specific browsers, the entire operating system, or indeed your network router also. Here's how to block websites:
·         On your computer
If you want to control access to websites on just one machine, then you can set up block at the operating system level. This method for blocking websites is not too hard to configure and will work across browsers.
1).      Windows
One of the backbones of the Internet is the DNS system that translates easy to remember (and type) names such as www.google.com into equivalent IP addresses (8.8.8.8). While you use DNS servers to get to websites, your computer also has something called a HOSTS file which can have this information stored locally. This can be used to disable access to unwanted websites. This method can be applicable with both Windows 7 and Windows 8.
1. Make sure you have administrator access on your computer. Sign in to your PC using an administrator account and go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
2. Double-click the file named "hosts" and select Notepad from the list of programs to open the file. Click OK. The last two lines of your hosts file should read "# 127.0.0.1 localhost" and "# ::1 localhost".
3. In case you can't edit the file, you'll need to right-click the file labelled hosts and select Properties. Click the Security tab, select the administrator account and click Edit.
4. In the pop-up, select the account again and check Full control. Click Apply > Yes. Now click OK in all pop-ups.
5. At the end of the file, you can add the addresses of websites to block. To do this, just add a line at the end of the file, with 127.0.0.1 and then the name of the site you want to block - this will redirect the site's name to your local computer.
6. To block Google, for example, add "127.0.0.1 www.google.com" to the end of the file without the quote marks. You can block as many sites as you want this way, but remember you can only add one per line.
7. Repeat this step until you've added all websites you want to block.
8. Now close the hosts file and click Save. Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect and you'll find that all those websites are now blocked.

2).      Mac
Here's how to block websites on OS X .
1. Make sure you have administrator access to your Mac. Now open Terminal. You can find it under /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
2. Type sudo nano /etc/hosts and press enter. Enter the user (login) password when prompted.
3. This will open the file /etc/hosts in a text editor. Type the name of the website in a new line in this format "127.0.0.1 www.blockedwebsite.com" (minus the quotes). For each website you want to block, start a new line and type the same command with only the name of the website being replaced. When done, press Ctrl+X and then Y to save changes.
4. Now key in the command sudo dscacheutil -flushcache and press Enter or restart your machine to make sure the websites are blocked.

·         Browser-level blocks
Blocking a website on any browser is the easiest way to get the job done.
On Firefox, you can install an addon called BlockSite to block website.
1. Install the addon, press Ctrl+Shift+A, and click Extensions on the left. Now click Options under BlockSite. In the pop-up, click Add and type the name of the website you want blocked. Repeat the process for all websites you don't want to access. Click OK.
2. Now these websites will be blocked on Firefox. You can also set a password in BlockSite to prevent others from editing the list of blocked websites. This can be done via the options menu described in the previous step.
BlockSite is also available on Google Chrome.
Internet Explorer lets you block websites easily. Here's how.
1. Open the browser and go to Tools (Alt + X) > Internet Options. Now click the security tab and then click the red restricted sites icon. Click the Sites button below the icon.
2. Now in the pop-up, manually type the websites you want o block one-by-one. Click Add after typing the name of each site. When done, click Close and click OK in all other windows. Now these websites will be blocked in Internet Explorer.

·         On your phone or tablet
1).      iOS
Apple has some handy parental control tools that let you block certain websites. Here's how.
1. Go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
2. Tap on Enable Restrictions. Now set a passcode for restrictions. This should ideally be different from the passcode you use to unlock the phone.
3. After the passcode is set, scroll down and tap Websites. Here you can either choose to limit adult content, or allow access to specific websites only.
4. In specific websites only, there's a short list of allowed websites including Discovery Kids and Disney, but you can also add sites by tapping on Add a Website.
5. If you tap Limit adult content, Apple blocks websites that are deemed objectionable, but you can whitelist websites by tapping on Add a Website under Always Allow, or blacklist them by tapping on it under Never Allow.
6. If you try to access a blocked website, you see a message telling you it is restricted. Tap the Allow Website and key in the Restrictions passcode to open that website.

2).      Android
Method 1:
On Android, you'll need to edit the hosts file on your device to redirect sites you want to block. You'll need a file manager, and a text editor - the easiest option is to use our favourite app ES File Explorer, which lets you do both things. Here's how it works.
1. Install ES File Explorer Open ES File Explorer and tap the "/" button at the top. Tap on system > etc.
2. In this folder, you'll see the hosts file - tap it and in the pop up menu, tap text. In the next pop up, tap ES Note Editor.
3. Tap the three dots button in the top right, and tap edit.
4. Now, you're editing the file, and to block sites, you want to redirect their DNS. To do this, just start a new line, and type "127.0.0.1 www.blockedwebsite.com" (without the quotes, where blocked website is the name of the site you're blocking) for each website you want to block. For example, you'll have to type 127.0.0.1 www.google.com to block Google.
5. Reboot your Android device.
Method 2:
If that method is too complex for you, you can install an anti-virus app such as Trend Micro that lets you block websites.
1. Install the app and run it. Go to Options > Safe surfing.
2. Now swipe to Parental Controls and click set up account. Create an account and you'll see an option called Blocked List in the app. Tap it, and tap Add.
3.Now add the websites you want to block one at a time. Once that is done, you won't be able to access these websites on your Android smartphone.
3).   Windows Phone
You can't do a full block of websites on Windows Phone, buy you can download the AVG Family Safety browser. By default it blocks websites with malicious or explicit content, and if you purchase an AVG anti-virus licence and create an account, you can customise the list of blocked websites.

What is Rooting ?

Rooting is the process of gaining administrative access on an android device. You may have seen occasional prompts in windows like this or that program is asking for administrative access. Rooting allows you to grant such permissions in android to trusted apps which would help you to carry out more functions.

This includes overclocking the processor to improve performance. However if overdone can cook your phone. Other functions include enabling firewalls which can block apps you don't trust the permission to access internet or wifi or other mobile services. This would also allow you to install apps that can completely block ads(you won't get them from google play they are banned however you will from F-Droid which is the Cyanogenmod appstore which can be installed in Android).

Also rooting makes you lose your warranty and if you damage it in such a condition you won't get any free service. However the people who service it would be unable to understand whether it is rooted or not if it is not able to boot to recovery mode(which can be entered by pressing a particular combination of buttons which varies for different devices google to know how to enter recovery mode in your device).
However you can regain warranty by flashing the original stock ROM which is quite easy in Samsung devices through odin. It varies across devices and in some you just need to insert an sd card containing the zip file for the OS to get the original OS back.

Also if you root your device you won't get any further updates to it. However this can be installed even if it is rooted. Rooting would also allow you to install custom Operating Systems like CyanogenMod etc which are Android based but with great tweaks. You have a very low chance of bricking your device through rooting almost negligible if proper precautions are taken like making sure it has enough charge and the device you are using to flash the file wouldn't turn off if the power goes. However you have a high risk of bricking the device by flashing a custom OS after rooting it.

Rooting also doesn't lead to any data loss. However if something happens to the device during the process then you need to reflash firmware where all data would be wiped.

Once you root if you lack the common sense to judge which apps can be trusted and which can't be then you would be vulnerable to viruses and spyware which can be much dangerous now since it can gain admin access. These software can destroy your device which is the best that can happen actually. Worse it could use your device for some illicit activity, track you, be used to blackmail you. However the person who roots the device if it is not you must be the one you must worry about. However if your phone password is known to anyone they too can do just the same. However if you give admin permission to the wrong apps it would be far worse.

In short,Rooting gives the ability (or permission) to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized applications ("apps") that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.

How to enable System UI Tuner in Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The System UI Tuner was first introduced in Android M's preview 1 and 2 is back again in android 6.0's preview 3, only it's not easy to find as it once was. In fact, Google has completely hidden this setting unless you perform a secret action to enable it.
For example, Samsung and LG both disable or some other phones also hide this menu, so you can’t access it on any of their non-Nexus devices.

To enable System UI Tuner in Android 6.0 Marshmallow preview 3, pull down your notification shade and long-press on the Settings gear icon for up to 5 seconds.

Once you let go, you should see a pop-up with the message “Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings.”

And as that message suggests, you can head into settings, scroll to the bottom, and find an option for System UI Tuner.

With it enabled, you can then tweak your quick toggle tiles, add or remove items from the status bar, and even enter Deo Mode.

To turn it back off, tap the action overflow menu from within the System UI Tuner section and choose to turn it off. You can also long-press on the Settings icon again for 5 seconds.

How to spoof MAC address on android phones

MAC is the acronym for Media Access Control. Its address is a unique code made up of 12 (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX) characters for a particular hardware like say the network adapter of your WiFi device. In simple words, a MAC address can be used to uniquely identify your Android phone on the Internet or the local network.
Changing of MAC address is called MAC address spoofing.
Generally speaking, yes,it is possible to spoof a MAC address. But it is also possible that some manufacturer has restricted the way of doing this... so,  based on your phone's brand and model,  results may vary.
You can of course change this address permanently or temporarily depending on your requirement. Usually you need a rooted phone to change the address but to change the address temporarily you can use a phone that is not rooted.

To temporarily change android MAC address without rooting the first thing you need is to know the MAC address. To find it on your tablet just touch the Menu key and go to Settings. Scroll down to About Tablet and there select Status. Just scroll down and view the address. If you are using an android phone you can do the same thing or alternatively on About Phone select Hardware Information and see the address. Another way is to select Wireless Network from Settings and there select WiFi settings and get the address from the Advanced section.

Next thing is to download a free app called the Android Terminal Emulator. Install it on your device. You need to know the name of your card to actually make the change. So open the app and type

ip link show

You will get a list of the different interfaces. On the list search for the address that matches the one that you found out earlier. Now to change it to the temporary address just type in the following commands:

ip link set AAAA address XX:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY

ip link set AAAA broadcast XX:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY.

Here AAAA is the name of the interface that you want to change and XX:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY is the new temporary address that you are assigning to the hardware. Remember that the address is made up of characters so it can be numbers or alphabets. Now to check whether the address has changed just type
ip link show AAAA

While denoting the new address it is important to keep in mind that only the last 3 sets should be changed. The first three sets should be kept same. If you change them you will face a lot of authentication issues.

As these changes are temporary whenever you reboot your device the MAC address will change back to the original address so you will have to repeat the above instructions again.

There are also some apps available on Google Playstore which supposedly help in temporarily changing the MAC address without rooting like the MAC changer app. All you have to do is follow the instructions given in the app.

How can I run Kali Linux on the Android device without rooting?

The very first step to this project is to have an Android phone running OS 4.1 +.

This process would require no root.

Moving on, we have to remember that the majority of the android phones available now in the market are not 64 bit supportive they are all meant for 32 bit OS. hence, the OS needs to be 32 bit. period.

We begin by downloading the appropriate ISO image from the official kali linux website which you can find here- Kali Linux Downloads please make sure you download the 32 bit version which states Kali Linux 1.0.6 32 Bit Mini ISO as shown below-

Next, we need a PC emulator for Android and we choose to install the limbo PC emulator, it is interesting to note that it has been removed from Google play store so you will have to search for other alternatives like sourceforge. Once downloaded and installed on your mobile device, you are ready for the real deal.

Run the Limbo PC emulator on your mobile device, and configure it with the following parameters as shown in the figures below-

Make sure that the mini ISO image of Kali linux is saved/copied onto the Mobile device. And point the ISO image under CDROM option.

You will also need to allocate space for hard disk, this will be a collective figure and it will be split into swap and primary storage later. Select the Network configuration to be ?User? to use the default card/settings on the mobile device. Set Boot from device to be default so post installation, it will automatically boot from the hard disk.

No changes to the Advanced configuration.

?Start? the emulator and you will see the installation window.

The easiest way to proceed would be the auto install but, I suggest manual install.

Sometimes it could be an issue with finding the right mirror for the download but, trial and error always wins. (For latest mirror links refer official Kali website)

But in most cases, with the auto install, it will find the nearest available mirror and download the packages.

Packages being downloaded.

Setting up the root account.

Installation continues..

starting up the partitioner..

Guided partitioning..

Auto allocation of disk space, it allots swap and ext automatically but, you can manually change that as well.

Writing the partitions

Quick glance at the installer menu?

Almost there..

Congrats you now have kali linux on your android phone.

A couple of things to note:
1. You might face issues with installing additional software packages but, don?t be perturbed, remember you can skip them and install them individually post installation.
2. Once installation is completed, if the machine does not automatically boot, go to your machine in limbo PC emulator and point the boot device to Hard disk.
3. If you face boot loader issues, you can skip it and manually fix it at a later stage.
4. For additional troubleshooting, try to tweak the CPU settings, allocated RAM, etc.
